Hobart Photographic Society’s 2023 Photography Exhibition opens to the public

Hobart Photographic Society would like to announce that the 2023 Photography Exhibition will open to the public on Friday 17th March at 10am.  The exhibition runs from Friday 17th March through to Wednesday 29th March.  The exhibition features the work from over 30 local photographers with 60 prints on display and nearly 200 digital images.

President of the Hobart Photographic Society; Ms Ashlie Hill; said “The Exhibition provided an important opportunity for Hobart Photographic Society’s members to prepare photos for display and showcase their work to the public.”

“The variety of entries in the Exhibition reflects our aim to assist members, regardless of their level of experience, to achieve their photographic goals in whatever field of photography they choose”.

“We have entries covering all photography genres including landscape, urban, portraiture, wildlife, macro and creative. There really will be something for everyone,” said Ms Hill.

Official Opening of the Hobart Photographic Society’s 2023 Photography Exhibition

The official opening of the 2023 Photography Exhibition is by the Right Honourable, The Lord Mayor of Hobart, Councillor Anna Reynolds on Friday 17th March at 6pm.  This event is by invitation only.

Judging of Hobart Photographic Society’s 2023 Photography Exhibition

Hobart Photographic Society is pleased to announce that Simon Olding from Full Gamut has accepted an invitation to judge the print photos on display this year.  There is to be an award for First, Second and Third.  See 2023 Photography Exhibition Prize Winners

People’s Choice Award

Raffle

There is an opportunity to win any one of the prints on display at the exhibition by entering the raffle. The winner is to be informed after the exhibition ends.  See 2023 Photography Exhibition Wrap Up

Purchase of Prints

Many of the prints on display are for sale as listed on the exhibition catalogue provided at entry.

Location

The exhibition is located at SOCIAL, 67 Salamanca Place, and is approximately midway between Salamanca Square and Kelly Steps. Social is part of the Salamanca Arts Centre.

Entry to the exhibition is free
