Next meeting:

Hobart Photographic Society meets next on Thursday 14th December 2023 at 7.30pm for our Christmas Function.  Bring a plate for supper and its BYO drinks.

Next excursion:

Program of Excursions for 2024

Hobart Photographic Society’s next excursion is in February 2024 and hosted by Brain Corr.

Further details will be available once the program of excursions for 2024 is finalised in December 2023.

Annual exhibition:

The Hobart Photography Society’s 2024 Exhibition is planned for 5th – 19th February 2024.  The venue for 2024 is once again Social in Salamanca. Further information is to be released closer to the date.  As an example of the exhibition planned, please see 2023 Photography Exhibition




The Hobart Photographic Society Inc. (HPS) is based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

Established in 1968, HPS is open to amateur and professional photographers alike.

The club conducts monthly meetings – 7.30 pm on the third Thursday of each month (excluding December which is the 2nd Thursday).  If you are interested in becoming a member you are welcome to attend one of our meetings.

Meetings will now be held at the GA Woods Hall located behind the Scots Memorial Church, 29 Bathurst Street, Hobart.

The club conducts monthly print and digital challenges.

The Print Challenges have a set theme or open theme, and the winning images are voted on by attendees at each monthly meeting.

The Digital Challenges include an open cha llenge as well as a set theme challenge, with images and results presented at each monthly meeting.
