Due to the changing circumstances associated with COVID-19, a decision has been made to suspend all HPS Events (meetings and excursions) until further notice. The monthly digital challenges will continue online. Further updates will be provided as events associated with COVID-19 evolve.
The Hobart Photographic Society (HPS) is based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
Established in 1968, HPS is open to amateur and professional photographers alike.
Being a member provides you with opportunities to grow your photography skills and socialise with fellow members. There are a number of other benefits to being a member of Tasmania’s leading photographic club.
The Club conducts monthly meetings – 7.30 pm on the third Thursday of each month (excluding December which is the 2nd Thursday). If you are interested in becoming a member you are welcome to attend one of our meetings.
Meetings at the Philip Smith Centre have been suspended due to COVID-19 virus.
The Club conducts member only excursions from time to time. Details relating to the excursions are posted on the Club’s Facebook site under the heading “excursions”.
The Club conducts monthly digital and print challenges.
The Digital Challenges include an open challenge as well as a theme set for each month, with images and results presented at each Club meeting.
The Print Challenges have a set theme each month, and the winning images are voted on by attendees at each Club meeting.
