What’s On This Month?
Annual exhibition:
The Hobart Photographic Society’s Exhibition for 2024 was extremely successful. Rob Valentine MLC opened the exhibition with 30 exhibitors and 53 photos. Over the two weeks of the exhibition there were 2,877 visitors and 11 photos sold. The club also attracted three new members.
The results of the Judge’s and People’s Choice prizes and the Raffle are as follows:

Raffle
The winner of the raffle was Steve Pickering from Ulmara in NSW. He has chosen as his prize a copy of Image 35, by Julie Moltman.

Hobart Photographic Society meets next at 7:30pm on Thursday 16 May 2024 at the GA Woods Hall, located behind the Scots – Memorial Church at 29 Bathurst Street, Hobart.

Next excursion:
Parliament Square, Hobart
Hobart Photographic Society’s next excursion is on Sunday 19 May 2024. The theme for the excursion is Streetscapes in Mono and the location is Historic block surrounded by Salamanca Place, Parliament House, Davey St., and Murray St.
Established in 1968, HPS is open to amateur and professional photographers alike.

The club conducts monthly meetings – 7.30 pm on the third Thursday of each month (excluding December which is the 2nd Thursday). If you are interested in becoming a member you are welcome to attend one of our meetings.
Meetings will now be held at the GA Woods Hall located behind the Scots Memorial Church, 29 Bathurst Street, Hobart.
The club conducts member only excursions from time to time. Details relating to the excursions are posted on one of the Society’s Facebook pages.
The club conducts monthly print and digital challenges.
The Print Challenges have a set theme or open theme, and the winning images are voted on by attendees at each monthly meeting.
The Digital Challenges include an open cha llenge as well as a set theme challenge, with images and results presented at each monthly meeting.
